Hugo Chavez dies at 58 (6th March, 2013)

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has died from (1) ____ problems, aged 58. He had been seriously ill with cancer for over a year. Venezuelan vice-president Nicolas Maduro (4) ____ the nation on Tuesday evening, telling Venezuelans that Mr Chavez had died, "after battling a tough illness for nearly two years." There was a (1) ____ shock for the Catholic Church on Monday. Its leader Pope Benedict XVI resigned. No one knew he would resign. He even surprised all of the people who worked (2) ____ with him. It is the first time a pope has resigned in nearly 600 years. The last papal resignation was in 1415. The Archbishop of Paris said resigning as Pope was a "(3) ____ ".
